Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)


LWV of Wichita Metro DEI Policy

 

LWV of Wichita Metro is fully committed to modeling diversity, equity, and inclusion in both principle and practice. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are central to the organization’s current and future success in engaging individuals, households, communities, and policymakers to create a more perfect democracy. LWV strives to ensure all members feel valued and respected, and that their voices are heard.


LWV of Wichita Metro acknowledges and respects the fundamental value and dignity of all individuals. There shall be no barriers to full participation in this organization based on gender identity, gender expression, ethnicity, race, native or indigenous origin, age, generation, sexual orientation, culture, religion, belief system, marital status, parental status, socioeconomic status, language, accent, ability, mental health, educational level or background, geography, nationality, work style, work experience, job role function, thinking style, personality type, physical appearance, political perspective or affiliation and/or any other characteristic that can be identified as recognizing or illustrating diversity. 

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Reading List

 

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee has developed a reading list for members interested in continued learning and appreciation of DEI issues. Our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee created a short video to announce the list.


This list was compiled based on critical reviews and other online booklists. Although it covers a wide range of groups and topics, it is not intended to encompass every experience or issue related to this subject.
