LWVK climate study discussion 2026 via Zoom
About this event
Please join Carol Williamson and Vicki Arnett for a statewide discussion of the proposed LWVK climate and energy position. The position document is here. They are seeking input before presenting to the State meeting in April.
Summary: The League of Women Voters of Kansas is considering an updated statewide position on climate and energy. The proposal supports a diverse energy future that expands renewable sources like wind and solar, encourages energy conservation, and reduces greenhouse gas emissions while maintaining reliable power for Kansas communities. It also calls for a statewide energy plan, fair electric rates for residents, and appropriate cost-sharing for large electricity users. The position supports energy-efficient buildings, expanded electric-vehicle infrastructure, and programs that help households lower energy costs. It also continues the League’s long-standing commitment to protecting water resources and carefully regulating activities such as fracking.
