Congratulations to Elise Unruh

One of three winners of the 2019 Kansas Book Festival statewide youth writing contest

In her essay, Elise explained how the persistence of Kansas suffragists in the face of defeat paid off by advancing the nationwide movement for women’s right to vote. Download her essay.

Elise’s reminder fits both this centennial celebration of women’s right to vote as well as applying to the struggles for equal representation that we still face.
