LWV Wichita Metro Events
Every year we have a meeting where our members vote on a proposed budget for the coming 12 months, a slate of board positions, etc. and then we do fun things like honoring our Citizen of the Year. It’s a great way to cap the previous 12 months and form a vision of how the next year will be.
Last year was a bit of a bust. This year we’re on top of our video conferencing game and we’re ready to take full advantage of it! 💪
We would LOVE for members AND non-members to join us for the public portion of our annual meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 24th. 🤩 The livestream will pop up at bit.ly/LWVyoutube. We will also livestream on our Facebook page at fb.com/League.Of.Women.Voters.Wichita
The public meeting will include:
⭐ DEI Moment of Focus
⭐ Greetings from LWVUS CEO Virginia Kase
⭐ Presentation of our scholarship winners
⭐ Recognition followed by a keynote address from the League of Women Voters Wichita – Metro’s Citizen of the Year, Sedgwick County Health Director Adrienne Byrne
Please note that the members-only portion of our Annual Meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. and held on Zoom. All members should have received an email from firstname.lastname@example.org on April 24th with attachments & the Zoom link. (Check your spam folder if you don’t see it in your inbox.) 🔎 Reach out to our co-presidents Jennifer Byers Heminway (email@example.com) & Martha Pint (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have questions.
Our Tuesday Topics events are held the fourth Tuesday of every month at noon at the Wichita Downtown Public Library. These engaging discussions feature an invited speaker discussing topics relevant to our work today. No registration is required; both members and the general public are invited to join us at these free events. See calendar for current list of topics.
Events for LWV Wichita Metro League members are held throughout the year. These include monthly League meetings. See calendar.
Events hosted or co-sponsored by the LWV Wichita Metro League are open to the public. See calendar.
