Meeting on the first Tuesday Monthly - Email Membership@lwvwichita.org for the Google Meet link
Please mark your calendars for "Meet the Need: Mobilize" on July 12, 2025, from 1:00-6:00 p.m., Westlink Church, 10025 W Central Ave.
This is the second iteration of See the Need, Meet the Need. Incredible, timely, and relevant speakers have been coordinated for this conference and will be announced soon. NOW IS THE TIME TO ACT, TOGETHER.
The League of Women Voters of Wichita Metro will be present to answer questions about how our League is taking action.
The Women for Kansas Virtual Chapter presents a timely topic: “KNOW YOUR RIGHTS WHEN INTERACTING WITH ICE” with Evan Altman.
?Mr. Altman is the leader of the ACLU’s statewide voter registration program, which is geared towards informing Kansans with felony convictions of their right to vote. Let’s learn more about ICE’s methods, along with immigrant rights and citizen rights. Be sure to register in advance https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/qTwPA4T3RFiNCUFgx8PZmQ#/registration
WSU Marcus Welcome Center
We‘ve been invited to serve as timekeepers for the Wichita Journalism Collaborative‘s District 1 candidate forum. With all five candidates confirmed to attend, it should be a great event.
In addition to timekeeping, we’ll have a League table where we can assist attendees with voter registration, check their registration status, and apply for mail-in ballots. This is also a great chance to promote the League and raise awareness about who we are and what we do.
It‘s also a perfect opportunity to promote our League and let people know who we are. The event will take place at the Marcus Welcome Center, located on the north side of the WSU campus. We‘ll be there from 5:30 to 8:00, as the event runs from 6:00 to 7:30. We have all the necessary supplies to handle timekeeping, so timekeepers won‘t need to bring anything. This is a great opportunity because it involves all District clerical staff, both new and veteran employees.
It is the first such training provided by the district for this employee group, and the district contact is very enthusiastic about providing voter registration at the event.
